Who Is SIMON SHIFF

I was born and raised in Melbourne, and for the past 14 years I’ve been working as a lifestyle and commercial photographer. At 31, I’ve had the privilege of building a career that allows me to combine my fascination with light, my love for storytelling, and my slightly obsessive tendencies that drive me to chase perfection in every detail.

My work ranges from lifestyle campaignsand branding to interiors, hotels, food, product, and portrait imagery. More recently, I’ve been developing my skills in motion, extending my approach to visual storytelling into video. Clients often describe me as professional, experienced, and reliable, with a great sense of brand direction. I own and run Capella Studio Moorabbin, a creative warehouse space designed for photographers, videographers, and brands who need a versatile and inspiring environment to produce creative.

Outside of work, I’m a new dad and a lifelong car enthusiast, with a soft spot for collecting classic BMWs. Whether it’s restoring a vintage car or shaping a beam of light in the studio, I find joy in the same pursuit: getting the details just right.

Photography, for me, has always been about more than just creating images—it’s about crafting a story that feels authentic and delivering the brand’s feeling.
